We always look forward to an evening of good music, dancing and a few silly games at Christmas and this was no exception thanks to our pupils and, of course, the Ashby Little Big Band.
This year's summer event was totally different to any of our previous years with a visit from Richard Marcel, the celebrity choreographer. He certainly knew how to get the party started. We had two excellent workshops with Richard and none of us will ever forget a very special evening.

Believe it or not 2016 is the year we celebrate ten years of Dance Classes! We started out in March 2006 and our Summer Event seemed the ideal time to celebrate.
We had the pleasure of another visit from Richard and Morgan and it was another fantastic evening as you can see from the photos.
We welcomed the Telstar Big Band for our annual Christmas Dance and the gallery shows that a good time was had by all. The balloon game is always a good photo opportunity!
For our Summer Event this year we were delighted to wlecome back Warren & Kristi Boyce together with Glenn & Kayleigh. It was a brilliant evening with some stunning show dances from both couples. The finale was particularly emotional, reducing some grown men to tears!!
Our Summer Dance Evening on 7th June was a great success with stunning dancing demonstrations from Richard Still and Morgan Hemphill who are the current professional UK Ten Dance Champions.

On 4th May we were delighted to welcome back Warren & Kristi Boyce together with their son, Glenn Boyce and his dance partner Kayleigh Andrews. Both couples performed some spectacular show dances with a grand finale of a Slow Foxtrot danced together.
As usual it was a wonderful evening which will be long remembered by all who were lucky enough to be there.
Our annual Christmas Dance was another successful event with a welcome of a glass of mulled wine and a warm mince pie to ward off the cold. It was an evening of dancing, some party games and good company.
A Jubilee Dance was the obvious choice for our summer event this year on the 60th Jubilee Celebration Weekend. Dress code was black tie with an option of wearing an iconic costume representing a musical decade.
This year we had a Christmas Dance Evening with a difference with the Ockbrook Big Band. Everyone enjoyed dancing to a "live" band and it was another great occasion.
On 2nd July we held our summer event with our special guests Warren and Kristi Boyce who are IDU World Champions, all time record six times British National Amateur Champions and reigning British National Professional Ballroom Champions.

Alton Towers Weekend
A group of our dancers joined us for a dancing weekend at Alton Towers. The weekend was organised by Paul and Shirley Donahey who have their own dance school based in Manchester.
As you can see from the photos it was a brilliant venue and we all had a very enjoyable weekend mingling with stars from "Strictly".
On 20th July we were delighted to welcome James and Ola to the school. They performed four fabulous show dances and later mingled with pupils, families and friends who had the opportunity to have photos taken and get autographs from James and Ola.
On 24th July we had the honour of a visit from Vincent and Flavia who performed three show dances. Vincent also danced a beautiful slow waltz with Linda.Everyone had the opportunity to chat to Vincent and Flavia, get an autograph and have a photo taken.The evening was reported in the Shepshed Echo, the Huddersfield Examiner and in a national magazine "YOURS"
An excellent turn out of pupils gave a demonstration of Waltz, Cha Cha Cha, Square Tango and Rock and Roll as part of the Glenmore Centre Open Day on 4th October.

A group from simply Dancing spent an evening with two winners of Strictly Come Dancing, Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash, at the Jeremy Snape testimnial Launch Ball held at the Walkers Stadium on 1st March 2008.
